Singh condemns IoK attack, says peace talks will not be derailed

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called the attack on an Indian police station and army camp in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) as “barbaric”. In a statement the prime minister said that the attack would not derail efforts to pursue peace through dialogue. "This is one more in a series of provocations and barbaricactions by the enemies of peace.” Singh added that such attacks would not deter India and would not succeed in derailing efforts to find a resolution to all problems through a process of dialogue. At least 12 people were killed in IoK when militants dressed in army uniforms attacked a police station and army camp. The attack comes a day after Singh said he would be meeting his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
