Nawaz to meet Obama on October 23
WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will travel to Washington DC on October 23 where he will meet US President Barack Obama.
According to the White House, the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will highlight the importance and reliance of US-Pakistan relationship. "The visit will highlight the importance and resilience of the US-Pakistan relationship and provide an opportunity for us to strengthen cooperation on issues of mutual concern, such as energy, trade and economic development, regional stability, and countering violent extremism.
The statement from the White House further said: "The President looks forward to discussions with Prime Minister Sharif on ways we can advance our shared interest of a stable, secure, and prosperous Pakistan."
The announcement by the White House came a day before the US President Obama's meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
