Tarbela Dam water level stands at only 9 inch below maximum


ISLAMABAD: Water level in the Tarbela Dam persistently rising stands only 9 inches shyy of its maximum capacity and is expected to reach the maximum limit by Tuesday. The Flood Forecasting Division has said that water level in the Dam has reached 1549.25 feet against its maximum capacity of 1550 feet. Usually water level in Tarbela Dam mounts to its maximum capacity on August 20. The water inflow into Tarbela Dam was recorded at 1,87,200 cusecs, while discharge stands at 1,79,544 cusecs and the usable water reserve in the Dam is 65,38,000 acre-feet, according to the Flood Forecasting Division. On the other hand, the Mangla Dam water level has surged up to 1225.60 feet, water inflow was recorded at 50,185 and discharge at 15,000 cusecs, while the usable water reserve measured stands at 61,29,000 acre-feet.
