ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of the multi-billion scam case in Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) till the appointment of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)'s chairman. A two-judge bench comprising Justice Anwer Zaheer Jamali and Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed resumed the hearing of OGRA implementation case and the arrest of its former chief. During the course of proceeding, on bench query, the prosecutor NAB apprised that the office of Chairman NAB was yet vacant as the process of appointment was underway. Justice Jamali remarked that in the absence of chairman, how NAB can run the matters and to who the Supreme Court will direct. So, the bench adjourned further hearing of the case for indefinite period. It is pertinent to mention that Tauqir Sadiq, former chairman OGRA had been charged with the corruption of Rs 82 billion and had fled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Later authorities had to bear Rs 4 million on bringing Tauqir Sadiq back from UAE.
