PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast rain with thunderstorm for uper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to seasonal low lies over Northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas in next 24 hours. According to the spokesman of Met Office here, monsoon currents from Arabian sea are penetrating into upper and central parts of the country that may lash scattered places of Punjab (Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Sahiwal divisions), upper KP (Hazara, Peshawar division), Quetta, Zhob divisions, while at isolated places of Malakand, Bannu, D.I. Khan, D.G. Khan, Sukkar and Kalat divisions in next 24 hours. He said heavy falls are also expected at a few places of Kashmir, Hazara, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sargodha divisions. In next 48 hours, rain-thundershower is expected at scattered places of Punjab (Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Sahiwal divisions Hazara, Zhob divisions, while at isolated places of Malakand, Bannu, D.I. Khan, D.G. Khan, Sukkar and Kalat divisions, whereas heavy falls are also expected at a few places of Kashmir, Hazara, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sargodha divisions. Scattered rain-thundershower occurred in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Quetta division and Kashmir in last 24 hours, making the weather pleasant. Maximum rain was received by Gujrat 136mm followed by Khanpur 108, Balakot, Rawalpindi (Shamsabad) 104, Islamabad (Bokra) 96, Islamabad (ZP) 88, Mallamjabba 68, Rawalpindi (AP) 61, Muzaffarabad 53, Sahiwal 26, Gujranwala 24, M.B.Din 23, Murree 17, Cherat 14, Quetta, Kotli 12, Lahore 09 and Mangla 06 mm respectively. Dalbandin remained the hottest place of the country where 42 degree centigrade temperature was recorded while pollen count yesterday remained 125/m3.
